Pocket Speedometer is built around a single promise: your data is yours. We designed the app and this website to collect nothing.
The app and the web version read your device's GPS to calculate and display your current speed. This location data is used only on your device, in real time, to show your speed. It is never transmitted to us, never stored on any server, and never shared with anyone.
If you record trips in the iOS app, that data — routes, distance, speeds — is stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded. Deleting the app, or using the in-app "Delete all data" option, removes it.
There are no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising, no trackers, and no accounts. We do not use cookies to track you. We cannot see how you use the app.
The app makes no network calls except those handled by Apple's own frameworks (such as map tiles when you open the map). The web version loads only its own files and the IBM Plex web font.
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy ever changes, the updated date above will change with it.
